Shaun Crumpler started out his career in the durable medical equipment field where he would assist those with limited mobility to gain their freedom and independence.  This was very rewarding because he had seen how people had treated his grandmother who had similar conditions and wanted to treat people the way they deserved to be treated, and not like a bother as she was being treated.  Over this tenure, he was able to achieve top sales numbers (which I viewed as the number of people that he was able to help, and not as mere dollars on a spreadsheet).  Shaun Crumpler also was able to achieve many prizes in referral contests as the bonds that he created with customers caused the customers to provide their friends and family to be assisted by him as well.  This was the greatest compliment that he could have received because it shows that they were happy enough with the service that he provided that they would recommend loved ones for the same treatment.  He then won two of the company’s six annual awards that were provided one per ideology to the individual that was nominated with the standout nomination.  The two that he won were “Focus on the Customer” and “Make Our Work Fun”.  It was an honor to be viewed in such regard by fellow workers and he was the only employee to win two of the awards in the same year (as there were thousands of people in the company and just those six awards given out annually).   Shaun Crumpler then transitioned to the technical field and became a Linux Administrator, assisting customers with the same passion that he had in my previous job.  Over the four years tenure with Rackspace, he has assisted in developing training materials to assist in the development of new Rackers, while learning more about the business and how business units interact and the impact that they have on one another.  Because of his development efforts, he was recognized by his team by nominating him for the Fanatical Jacket, which is the highest honor awarded at Rackspace and only presented to a single Racker each month (the company has approximately 7000 employees).  His team cited the fact that he had proactively guided them in obtaining training and creating development plans to assure they were set up for success, while producing the highest NPS metrics for a span of two years in the respective department, as well as the highest output of additional sales contribution from the sales floor.  Additionally, further opportunities were presented in leading the team through day-to-day tasks as a senior member of the team, and with it brought about the need for additional training.  Also, when it comes to sustaining the culture that the company was known for, Rackers look to him to provide creative engagement activities to break the ice between groups, special tokens of appreciate just to show that employees are important, and celebrating successes both large and small.
